Welcome,

This is the documentation of producing the new album. Here you’ll find videos, music, lyrics, poetry and other musings that pertain to the assemblage of my true love {music} and it’s development into a collection of songs for your listening pleasure. My goal is to create something undeniable and push my creativity to it’s potential.

I’ve packed my belongings from San Francisco and taken solace in a little beach house in Santa Cruz overlooking the rarely placid Pacific Ocean.  The vast open sea will forever be one of my biggest inspirations.  I’ve arrived at a place where I can process and metabolize the last few years of my life in the magical city of San Francisco. Now I must pour it in to mics, cables, guitars, ukuleles, drums, hand claps, beach glass, waves and more.

Please come along on this voyage, I will reveal all the ups and downs as I face them. To get the best of the story, follow the posts in chronological order starting at the bottom of the page. I encourage you to leave me writings in bottles, comments, musings and thoughts. Let me know how you’re fairing on this journey with me. If you don’t want to check for new posts, follow me with Twitter.

Sincerely yours,

Nat Kendall

Try getting a nice shell, the kind you put up to your ear, and see what recorded sound you can get from it. Might not be anything usable but then again, maybe you’ll get something.

It’s good to hear your music. I have always admired your spirit.

    Hello Nat,

I had never heard any of your music, or even heard of you, until a song from the Songbird Sing album, Exactly Right Here, as a similar sound to one of the artists on one of my Pandora stations. Right from the beginning I was really digging it, and continued listening. Before the song was even finished, I had already decided that I instantly loved it.

I craved more, and searched around for a while with no such luck of finding anything on the album. I eventually found it online and bought a copy of it. I eagerly waiting for it to arrive in the mail, and played it as soon as I received it. I sat down with a bottle or two of Samuel Adams cherry wheat and enjoyed the sound while I enjoyed a drink. Every song on the album is absolutely superb. I listen to it a few times a week, it hasn’t left my player! Thank you, to both you and Paige for creating such a wonderful piece of art!

David, thank you so much for the support! I can’t tell you how good it feels to get feedback like that!

Well, grammatical errors aside (I guess that’s what I get for not proof reading it, lol), any time! I can’t wait to hear more music from you. :)

I’ve always wanted to be a musician myself, and get myself out there, but I just don’t have the time at the moment. I haven’t had time to touch an instrument in about 3 years. :\

Step 1. Buy a decent acoustic guitar AND stand.

Step 2. Put it in a place where you’ll see it, they are art and beautiful fixtures as well as instruments.

Step 3. When you have even five minutes to spare, pick it up and be creative for just a moment.

Your life will be changed. Good luck!

    David,
Nat has been a good friend of mine for years. Take from me, someone who has worked with him musically, this dude is awesome and stay up with what he does musically, it will always be fantastic!
